Help for those with motor impairments

This website makes use of the UK Government Access Keys Standard for those who suffer from motor control problems that can make using a mouse difficult. The access keys for this website are:

  • S - Skip Navigation
  • 1 - Home
  • 2 - Latest News
  • 3 - Site Map
  • 4 - Contact Us
  • 0 - Site Help

To use an access key hold down the ALT key (or Control on a Mac) on your keyboard and press the appropriate number or letter. On most browsers this will immediately jump you to the appropriate page. However, if you are using Internet Explorer you will then need to press ENTER to active the link.

Help for those with visual impairments

Visual impairments come in all shapes and sizes, from colour blindness to complete vision loss. Below we demonstrate how to change text size on the two most popular browsers; Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Firefox:
Firefox

In Firefox you can select to increase or decrease text size by pressing CTRL + or CTRL - respectively. Alternatively these options can also be found under View > Text Size.

Internet Explorer:
Internet Explorer

To resize text in Internet Explorer go to View > Text Size and select the text size you require.

Using Our News Feeds

What are they?

News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. By subscribing to a feed you can get the latest updates from the school, as soon as they are published, without having to visit our website.

How to start using feeds:

The first thing you need is something called a news reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications.

If you would like to find out more The New York Times has an excellent backgrounder.
