School re-opened on 4th March 2013 after the long winter break.

Some new students joined the school, making 705 in total, aged 4-16.

The Construction Programme for this year is already underway with foundations and the first layers of stone already laid for the Residence 4 South block.

The Landscaping Team have been very busy during April planting trees on the school campus and in the "Dragon Garden" adventure playground being built this year. The new plant nursery is cultivating lots of small fruit trees for planting on the campus in future years. We are seeking funding to help with the Landscaping Programme to create a beautiful learning environment for the students.

We are 95% of the way towards our fundraising target for completing the construction of the Druk White Lotus School in Shey for students from Nursery to Secondary School Year 10.

We are aiming to finish construction by the end of 2014.

We are proud of what has been achieved and grateful for the generous help from our supporters.

Please help us complete the final phase of this exceptional project

Druk White Lotus aims to ‘walk-the-talk’ as a sustainable community, located in Ladakh’s high-altitude desert environment.  The planning and design of the campus and its buildings combine local knowledge and materials with “simple-smart” technology.  Design excellence has been recognised through various international awards, most recently in 2009 by an award for ‘Inspiring Design’ from the British Council of School Environments and a ‘Design for Asia Grand Award’, presented in Hong Kong.
