Winter time for the students in Ladakh.

The students and staff finished school on 15th December 2011 for the long winter holiday, temperatures in Leh had been reaching 10 degrees below freezing.

For five weeks from 1st January, the school has introduced winter tuition for the year groups 6-10. The school year will resume for all students on 1st March.

Design

Druk White Lotus aims to ‘walk-the-talk’ as a sustainable community, located in Ladakh’s high-altitude desert environment.  The planning and design of the campus and its buildings combine local knowledge and materials with “simple-smart” technology.  Design excellence has been recognised through various international awards, most recently in 2009 by an award for ‘Inspiring Design’ from the British Council of School Environments and a ‘Design for Asia Grand Award’, presented in Hong Kong.
